Our guides came across this natural avalanche today while out road building.  One good thing about skiing with guides at a cat ski operation is that they are out in most of the area almost every day of the season, and are aware of weak layers in the snowpack and able to plan the route accordingly, to keep you as safe as possible.  They'll certainly be testing regularly to see how different layers in the snowpack are bonding as time goes on.  In addition to the two guides skiing with your group, there are another couple out on a snowmobile, testing and recording stability on various runs, because avoiding a situation is always better than reacting to one.

They are also aware of the most fun spots as well!
