Nelson

If you are looking at staying Nelson and combining the trip with skiing at Whitewater and cat skiing with other local operations, there is a wide variety of lodging, from inexpensive and well-located hostels, to 3 and 3.5 star hotels, to boutique B&B's.  Some people like to do a weeklong safari, staying half the time in Rossland and half of the time in Nelson, for some variety and nightlife.  Big Red Cats is located in between, so you can wake up in Rossland, drive up to go cat skiing, and head straight to Nelson at the end of the day.

It is worth checking the Nelson hotel listing and B&B and hostel listing on the Trip Advisor site, but we've had happy guests from Dancing Bear, Best Western, Cloudside, Hume, Mountain Hound, Prestige, Alpine, and New Grand.  It all depends on what you're looking for.
