In case you missed our Facebook post, yes Big Red Cats did get snow on the night of 2 September!
Kieren and Kauri are up there nearly every day cutting new runs and on the morning of the 3rd they were excited to report the first snow of the season!
Usually, the snow doesn't start sticking around until the 2nd or 3rd snowfall, with more wintery conditions by mid October, and this year probably won't be much different. We'll certainly keep you posted, whatever happens!
Single? No reason to be depressed on Valentine's Day!
This Feb 14th, we're running a "singles cat" - for advanced skiers and riders or better, there is room for 6 ladies and 6 gentlemen, so come out and do what you love - ski powder!
If you end up falling in love before that time don't worry, we'll let you switch to another date - and you can come together!
We're back from the lake, and Kauri is back from climbing in Peru, and we're in to pre-season prep mode!
Kieren and Kauri start chainsawing new runs and cat roads this week, and Richard and Dana have been hard at work rebuilding snowcats - we're even receiving a "Park Bully" this week - which will be great for road-building and jump-making, for those who are so inclined!
The bookings have been coming in pretty steadily now - most years, they really pick up right after Labour Day, when the kids are back in school and there's a morning chill in the air - but if you beat the rush, you can even get some coveted February spots:
Just check out the schedule and book online via the website - or if you'd like a package including lodging, send me an email.
More news to come later this week - in the meantime, here is the latest video from the end of last season:
The first morning frosts have appeared, and our thoughts have turned to winter. Kieren decided to film a safety video. Although all guests go through safety instruction before cat skiing, you can't be too safe, so it's worth have a look. Feel free to comment if you have any suggestions or questions.
